Mogo Trails

World-class singletrack on your doorstep — officially opened July 2025

Mogo has arrived. What began as a single 10km loop around Deep Creek Dam has grown into one of the most ambitious trail networks ever built in Australia — 125km of purpose-built singletrack weaving through Mogo State Forest, from the coast all the way west to the summit of Mt Wandera.

Funded by a combined $8 million government grant as part of the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery program, the network was designed and built by Rocky Trail Destination and Next Level MTB, the same team behind some of Australia's most celebrated trail destinations. The result is a network with genuine depth — every level of rider will find something that challenges and rewards them.

The centrepiece is Burnaaga (Goanna) — a 28km point-to-point adventure trail descending 962 vertical metres from the top of Mt Wandera. Touted as the best of its kind in Australia, it's a serious undertaking requiring fitness, navigation skills, and a full day commitment.

Narooma Trails

85km of world-class riding — 45 minutes south

Narooma has built a reputation as one of mainland Australia's finest mountain bike destinations. Located in the Bodalla State Forest just north of Narooma town, the 85km network spans three distinct riding zones — the Playground, the Wilderness, and the Gravity Zone — catering to everything from beginner flow trails to serious technical descents.

The Gravity Zone is the drawcard for experienced riders — a series of descents accessible by shuttle through Southbound Escapes, featuring jump trails, technical chutes, and the kind of sustained flow that keeps you coming back. The Playground zone is ideal for families and intermediate riders, with the ability to self-shuttle for multiple laps.

With Tommaghan Rest just 45 minutes north, a day trip to Narooma is an easy addition to any ride-focused stay. Ride Mogo in the morning, Narooma the next day.

Narooma Cycles

Narooma Cycles is located in the Narooma Plaza, approximately 10 minutes from the trailhead. They service all major brands and support the local club. Hire and repair available.

Three riding zones:

The Playground — the gateway zone from the main trailhead, designed for a broad range of trail types and features. Ideal for building skills or warming up before heading deeper into the network.

The Wilderness — longer cross-country loops exploring the full extent of the Bodalla State Forest. Remote, undulating terrain with a genuine sense of adventure.

The Gravity Zone — shuttle-access descents with jump trails, flow lines and technical features. Book with Southbound Escapes for gravity runs.

Getting There
